Chicago Staycation Series | Longman & Eagle

We wrote a list of things we wanted to do this summer (check out the list here) and a thing on the list was titled Chicago Staycations - the goal is to stay in five different design-centric hotels in Chicago. We are both artists, and keeping our mind fresh and inspired by our environment is super important to us.

The first stay on our Chicago Staycation Series was at Longman & Eagle in Logan Square, Chicago. Longman & Eagle is a Michelin Starred restaurant and bar that happens to have a boutique hotel upstairs, and we booked two nights there over the weekend. There are only six rooms, and we got the largest - #55 if you want to stay where we did. :)

Longman & Eagle describes their boutique hotel on their website saying, "... Each room has been individually designed and furnished with an aesthetic that acknowledges past and present histories alike, at their core offering comfort, design consciousness and subtle luxury. The rooms reflect the same attention to creativity, detail and quality that is the foundation of the bar and restaurant."

The moment we walked in we could tell that this place was intentionally designed, and well appointed. I'm a sucker for a well designed room and amazing whiskey - so we were definitely in the right place. We really enjoyed the shower on the right, it was HUGE and the all glass doors allowed for an open-room-experience while showering.

(They did give us ear plugs because they host music nights below at the restaurant - they came in handy.)

Our favorite part of the room was definitely the bath tub. We hardly ever take baths, let alone together. It was fun reading and drinking whiskey while enjoying the natural light coming in from the huge window next to it.

If you're looking for amazing food and an incredible whiskey collection, head over to Longman & Eagle for a lovely experience. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone who needs a quiet place to sleep, but other than that, everything was excellent.

We are excited to stay in different, beautiful places in Chicago this summer and fall! More soon. :)

Onward and upward, lovelies -

Abe and Isaac
