a typical work week menu for abe!

I am working close with a dietician to ensure I am on the road to long-term health. over the next few months, I'm going to go in-depth about what i do to stay inspired on my journey to lose 100 pounds, but I wanted to share with you what a typical day or two looks like in terms of F O O O O D! 

My typical eating pattern is fasting 15-18 hours a day, and eating two meals in the remaining hours of the day. This is called Intermittent Fasting. Google it, watch some Youtube videos, research articles, etc. Basically being in a fasted state for a long period of time helps regulate your insulin levels and takes the fat stored in your body and uses it as energy. *Implementing Intermittent Fasting into your lifestyle should be carefully considered and researched and you should consult your doctor before doing it.*

Monday: 

Meal 1: Smoothie (fruit + protein powder + veggies), 2 eggs with 2 cups of veggies, cooked in 1/2 tablespoon of oil (typically pork lard)

Snack: 15 Terra Chips (YUMMM) with 1.5 oz of beef jerkey

Meal 2:  My version of a cobb salad: greens, two hardboiled eggs, bacon, shredded chicken, cucumbers, red peppers, primal kitchen ranch (the best)

Wednesday:

Meal 1: Three scrambled eggs, 2 cups of veggies cooked in oil, 1 serving of almonds

Snack: 1 oz of sliced cheese, 1 cup of grapes, 1/2 cup of yogurt, protein shake

Meal 2: 6oz protein (chicken or fish), 1/2 cup of quinoa, 2 cups of sautéed yellow & green squash cooked in pork lard
